Successful schools are made up of more than just teachers, principals and students — they also rely on parents and communities to help them be the best they can be. Holliston School Community Council gives parents and community members an opportunity to contribute to the school.
The School Community Council acts in an advisory role to the school, the Board and other agencies and organizations. The primary purpose of the School Community Council is to:
• develop shared responsibility for the learning success and well-being of all children and
• encourage and facilitate parent and community engagement in school planning and improvement
The school community council has several family friendly events planned for the 2014-15 school year and full details will be available in the school newsletter leading up to the events.
All Holliston SCC meetings are open to parents, guardians, and teachers and are a great opportunity to meet other parents who are interested and involved in the school and their child's education. There is no formal membership or other requirement made of parents who attend meetings.
Scheduled meeting dates for the 2017-18 school year are: Sept. 19; Oct. 10; Nov. 14; Dec. 5; Feb. 6; Mar. 13; May 8; June 5. All meetings begin at 7 p.m.
