About Our School

Every child dreams of visiting an enchanted castle, and Buena Vista -- our school -- is Saskatoon's Castle on the Hill! Nestled in a safe and caring neighbourhood, Buena Vista School is rich in history, architecture and education. We will celebrate our 100th Birthday in 2013! Our recently renovated building showcases and accentuates our Castle school. Our enthusiastic and caring staff will warmly welcome your children into their classrooms.

Getting to Know Us

At Buena Vista School, we believe all children from Kindergarten to Grade 8 have the right to a quality education and the opportunity to reach their fullest potential. To achieve this goal, children, as students, need to:

  • Be treated with respect and dignity
  • Have their individual needs met
  • Have opportunities to learn
  • Develop self-esteem and independence
  • Realize that schools are for teaching and learning

Our strategic plan emphasizes literacy, assessment for learning, and creating a positive school climate. Our staff works hard at identifying students who demonstrate respectful behaviour and rewarding them with a Buena Vista Bear Hug. We have established a safe and caring learning environment supported by highly qualified educators, a hard-working parent council, volunteers, and students.
