Greetings From Our School's Administrative Team

Greetings from the administrative team and staff at Mount Royal Collegiate!

At Mount Royal, we are proud of our culturally diverse student population that includes First Nation, Inuit and Métis youth in addition to many English as an Additional Language (EAL) students from around the world. We truly believe that Our Diversity is our Strength!

Mount Royal is home to several innovative programs and extra-curricular activities that inspire learning and engage students. Three examples are:

  • Grade Nine Program - Our team of Grade 9 teachers strives to create a welcoming and supportive learning environment for grade eight students transitioning into high school.
  • High School Carpentry Apprenticeship Program (H.C.A.P.) - Grade 11 and 12 students from across Saskatoon Public Schools apply to be part of this unique program that builds a house for a family in need in partnership with Habitat for Humanity.
  • Mount Royal has a strong curricular and extra curricular program. We are home to Mustang Volley one of Western Canada's premiere volleyball tournaments.

Royal West Campus is a satellite facility located two blocks west of Mount Royal Collegiate. Royal West is home to approximately 250 students (18+ years of age) looking to finish Grade 12 or upgrade their coursework in preparation for a post-secondary education. The University of Saskatchewan Transition Program also operates out of Royal West and provides post-secondary opportunities for interested students. The Saskatchewan Institute of Applied Science and Technology (Saskatoon's Kelsey Campus) along with the Saskatchewan Indian Institute of Technologies and Dumont Technical Institute are also partners with Mount Royal and will be offering post-secondary classes on-site starting September 2010.

Mount Royal has a distinct a Facility Advantage. Over the past three years, twenty million dollars has been spent renovating and expanding our campus. Renovations included extensive upgrades to our practical and applied arts shops and labs. Our secondary students learn in these enhanced spaces, which are home to the Saskatoon Trades and Skills Centre.

Mount Royal's commitment to our students is fuelled by strong community connections and a dedicated professional staff. We encourage you to call our school (306) 683-7800 or stop by for a personal tour.
