Arts Ed 9 is a survey course that provides a sampling of each of the four Arts classes you can take in high school. The course rotates through Visual Art, Drama, Music, and Dance.
Students will learn the elements and basic techniques for each of these areas and then put them to use in creative, collaborative, and fun projects. We will also look at diverse works from professional artists, actors, musicians, and dancers across the world.
The overall theme of this course is "taking action." Art isn't just something pleasant to look at or listen to. It also has an important function in our society challenging beliefs, ideas, and values. It can be provocative and controversial. It can make people think. It can change people's minds. It can change the world.
