Many school community councils holding annual meetings

August 11, 2022

SCCmeetings_news.jpgSaskatoon Public Schools' school community councils (SCC) hold annual meetings to elect representatives for the 2022-23 school year.

Annual meetings are held in either the spring or fall of the school year.

The SCC acts in an advisory role to the school, the Board of Education and other agencies and organizations. The primary purpose of a SCC is to develop shared responsibility for the learning success and well-being of all children and youth; and encourage and facilitate parent and community engagement in school planning and improvement processes. School community councils meet at least five times each year, in addition to the annual general meeting.

Saskatoon Public Schools encourages and enables SCCs to embrace a wide membership of parents and community so that the membership is as representative of the school community as possible.

For more information on school community councils and member eligibility please contact the school in your neighbourhood.
