Our School
Brownell School, based in the Silverwood Heights community, has served student and built a robust school legacy since 1985.
Families and schools share a common responsibility: helping children develop the knowledge, skills, and character they need to succeed in school and contribute positively to their communities.
At Brownell School, student learning is at the centre of everything we do. Our staff works closely with students and families to understand each learner's strengths, monitor progress, and provide the support and challenge needed for growth. Through ongoing assessment and responsive instruction, we help students build strong foundations in literacy, numeracy, critical thinking, collaboration, and problem solving.
Brownell School has provides students with a wide range of academic, athletic, artistic, and leadership opportunities. Our students learn in engaging environments that encourage curiosity, creativity, and achievement. We take pride in the strength of our arts and physical education programs, project-based learning experiences, outdoor education opportunities, and student leadership initiatives.
Brownell is also home to two Saskatoon Public Schools Functional Life Skills programs, which support students with moderate to severe intellectual disabilities. These specialized programs provide individualized learning experiences and additional supports that help students develop communication, daily living, social, and academic skills within an elementary school community.
We are truly honoured to serve the families and students of Brownell. Please share your questions and celebrations with us. As Helen Keller reminds us, "Alone we can do little; together we can do so much."
