Brunskill School choir opens December board meeting with moving performance
The Saskatoon Public Schools Board of Education held its regular monthly meeting on Dec. 9, 2025.
The meeting opened with a heartfelt performance by the Brunskill School choir (Grades 4-7), led by principal Miranda Low and choir director Jana Salt. Their performance set a powerful and reflective tone for the evening.
During the 2023-24 school year, a beloved Brunskill School staff member was diagnosed with breast cancer. In response, the school community came together with compassion, generosity, and strength. Students and staff contributed to the C95 Radio Marathon for Breast Cancer Research, with the school choir playing a meaningful role in this collective effort.
The choir’s performance of This Is My Fight Song—shared at both a school assembly and the Radio Marathon—became a symbol of hope, empathy, and unity. Through their voices, students demonstrated care for one another and the power of music to bring people together in times of challenge.
The Brunskill School community’s commitment to supporting one another is evident. Saskatoon Public Schools is proud of the compassion, leadership, and heart shown by Brunskill students and staff each day.
