We have a new Vision Statement for the school. This was derived through a collaborative process with students, staff and our School Community Council. It is as follows:
Lester B Pearson School
We are a PROUD community of learners striving to achieve success by engaging in the love of learning.
Let's Be Proud
Positive Respectful and Responsible Opportunities for all United Diverse
In all of our conversations, it became very prevalent that the new Vision statement was not only reflective of who we are as a school, but also who we will continue to strive to be in the future. Thanks again to everyone who was involved in this important process and look forward to seeing this Vision carried out on a daily basis at the school.
Red: A Crayon's Story
By Michael Hall
Meet Red, a blue crayon with a red label. Everyone calls him Red because that's what his label says. Following this logic, everyone expects him to draw in red, but as much as Red tries, he can't draw anything red. Some people say he just needs more practice. Others think he is just not that bright. Then one day, a friend asks him to draw her an ocean for her boat… Be sure to read the rest of the story to find out what Red learns.
