School Messenger

Communication with families is a priority for Saskatoon Public Schools. All of the division's schools use the School Messenger system to send emails with important school-related information and provide parents/caregivers with a convenient option to report student absences.

To ensure your family receives all school information, parents/caregivers are encouraged to download the free School Messenger app from the Apple App Store, Google Play Store or go.schoolmessenger.com.

After the app has downloaded, tap Sign Up to create an account. Once your account is created, you can set up push notifications to make sure you never miss a message.

Creating a School Messenger account also provides parents/caregivers with access to SafeArrival, which allows them to report a student's absence in one of three ways:
  1. Use the SchoolMessenger app on your mobile device by selecting Attendance, then Report an Absence.
  2. Use the SafeArrival website at go.schoolmessenger.com. Select Attendance, then Report an Absence.
  3. Call the toll-free number at 1-833-284-2719 to report an absence using the automated phone system.
These options are available 24 hours per day, seven days a week.

Parents and caregivers are encouraged to report a student's absence in advance. Reporting an absence using one of these methods means parents/caregivers will not receive the automatic notifications sent out when a child is absent.
