Our School

École Victoria School, established in 1909, is unique among Saskatoon Public Schools. We are one of two elementary schools to offer a single stream French Immersion program. What this means is that French Immersion is the only program in the school. This adds many benefits to the immersion experience (e.g., French is the working language of the school, assemblies and special events are typically presented in French, and supports and resources are available in French). Families who live in the Nutana neighbourhood north of Eighth Street that want to register their children in an English program often choose to register at Buena Vista School (transportation is available).

Our school has an active and engaged community to call home with a strong emphasis on environment, social justice and the arts. We have around 475 students from kindergarten to Grade 8 in French Immersion. Two-way transportation is provided to students in our catchment area at no cost.

We are focused on literacy and building strong readers and writers. We also work at building strong mathematicians who are flexible and knowledgeable about numbers and number sense. Students have a well-rounded set of extracurricular opportunities, such as track, volleyball, basketball, choir, comic book club, Dungeons and Dragons club, cheerleading, and band (grades 6 to 8). There's something for everyone at École Victoria School!

Our School Community Council and Parent Council are active and engaged. There are amazing opportunities for any parent or caregiver to become involved in the life of the school.
