A dedicated effort to help others has resulted in Dundonald School improving life for a community in India.
During the past two years the school’s Student Leadership Council led a ongoing fundraising effort -- with the theme "One Drop at a Time" -- that collected $5,000 to fund a water well in the community of Verada, located in western India.
The school’s project was part of a global initiative through the Free the Children organization.
The school’s contribution has had a significant impact on the quality of life for the people in the region, according to an update from Free the Children.
“Having clean water means my family is healthier, our animals have water to drink, and we are able to water our crops to grow more nutritious food,” said Ganesh, a farmer in the region.
“As adults we can work better and our kids are able to study.”
