We were informed today that the Saskatchewan Teachers’ Federation (STF) will be withdrawing the services of all teachers in the province for the entire day on Monday, January 22, 2024.
As a result of this one-day strike, all classes, transportation (busing and taxi), before and after school programs and extra-curricular activities in Saskatoon Public Schools will be cancelled for that day. Students should not attend school on Monday, January 22, 2024.
As a school division, we respect the collective bargaining process. Our number one priority is the safety of our students and we are committed to keeping parents, caregivers and families informed of future job action and changes to school operations.
Collegiate students - End of term assessments will begin on Tuesday, January 23, 2024. The last day of classes for semester one is Friday, January 19, 2024 and will be the last day for students to receive support from their teacher before assessments begin.
Please watch for ongoing communication through:
- Email and letters from the school via School Messenger
- Edsby
- Updates to our division website and school websites
- Saskatoon Public Schools’ social media accounts (Facebook, Twitter and Instagram)
If you have any questions, please call your child’s school.
Sincerely,
Shane Skjerven
Director of Education
