Welcome to Vincent Massey Community School Where You Matter!

As a community school we serve all students, their families, the community and our partners with respect and dignity while celebrating our diversity and commitment to reconciliation.   We promote holistic well-being, authentic engagement, positive character development and academic excellence. We value and acknowledge our rich mosaic ensuring that students see themselves in their learning. Culture, language, worldview and beliefs are acknowledged, honoured and celebrated through learning opportunities, community gatherings and extra-curricular activities.

Vincent Massey Community School is the hub of the community where all stakeholders are considered valued members of the community school family where voice is appreciated and the opportunity to lead by supporting learning, culture and extra-curricular opportunities.  All have a place in the circle.

At Vincent Massey Community School we are currently able to offer full-day, every day Kindergarten and four-year-old Pre-K, as well as half day, morning, 3/4-year-old classes (all PreK Programs run Monday to Thursday).  Our skilled staff provide our young learners a variety of opportunities to discover the joy of learning through play and structure. Families living in the Massey Place community will be given priority entering these classes. Nutritious snacks are provided to both programs in the morning and afternoon as well and an emergency lunch if needed.

Our emergency nutrition program is available to all students which includes breakfast and a bagged lunch.  We encourage students to go home for lunch whenever possible; this allows them with a break and opportunity to connect with family.  If a lunch is required for those going home, we are happy to support.

We are fortunate to have a partnership with The Boys and Girls Club that provide before and after school care. This program is available through an application process.  Other partnerships include:  School Community Council, Friends of Vincent Massey, Care and Share, WMB, Saskatoon Public Schools Foundation, Saskatoon Health Region, Start to Finish Running and Reading Program, SCYAP Art Programs, Kinsmen Hockey League, Kinsmen Lacrosse League, Big Brother, Big Sisters,  CFS, Read Saskatoon, Open Door Society, Global Gathering, Eye See I Learn, University of Saskatchewan Dental College as well as many Elders and Traditional Knowledge Keepers that support our cultural responsive programing. However, due to the current state of the pandemic we are unable to offer many of the programs these partners facilitate in order to comply with the protocols put in place by Saskatoon Health Region in order to keep everyone safe. We look forward to being able to host these initiatives in the future.

The School Community Council and our fundraising body, Friends of Vincent Massey, invite you to join them for their monthly meetings. The council engages in the planning and execution of our school strategic plan, while our Friends group plans bingos, dances and other family gatherings. Both groups contribute funding that support leaning, well-being and cultural initiatives.

In closing, we welcome you all to Vincent Massey Community School. A school with commitment to community education where everyone is considered a vital member of the circle that help support the best interests of students, their families and the community at large.
