Lawson Heights School
Inspiring Learning
Principal's Greeting

Lawson Heights School is a fantastic place to learn! It is a "happening place" offering a multitude of activities -- both in the classroom and through extracurricular activities.  A rich array of educational experiences is available to enhance students' learning and lives. When you enter Lawson Heights, you will feel a productive and welcoming atmosphere. Students and staff are busy, but will happily stop to assist you.

Our staff feels well supported by our parent-school community. The connection between our Home and School Association and School Community Council is strong, and students benefit from this close relationship. Parents are always welcome in our school. We invite parents to become involved in school events. This year, our parent groups provided extra money to our school to purchase certain items or support projects that enhance students' learning, such as classroom library books, buses for class field trips in our community, as well as parent engagement events (potluck dinners/Book and Muffin). This partnership is truly valued and appreciated. We know that Together We're Better!

Our staff is a talented group of educators dedicated to learning and determined to bring the best teaching methods to our students. Teachers are learners, too, who work diligently to incorporate new strategies into the classroom setting. Assessment for Learning (AFL) strategies has been a main focus in our classrooms for several years. Research shows that the implementation of these strategies increases student learning.

We invite you to come to Lawson Heights School and feel the excitement of learning. We invite you to see first-hand the many learning opportunities that our staff has created with the support and involvement of our parent groups. Making a difference in the lives of students is paramount to increasing their future success. Stop by and we will show you what we mean!
