Saskatoon Public Schools will host virtual candidate forums to allow candidates for Board of Education trustee positions to share their platform and respond to questions from voters.
School board elections take place Monday, Nov. 9, as part of the City of Saskatoon civic election. Information about voting, ward boundaries, and candidate profiles is available in the Saskatoon Voter's Guide available on the City of Saskatoon website.
Members of the public are invited to attend the virtual forum for their ward:
- Ward 2 – Monday, Nov. 2 at 6 p.m.
- Ward 4 – Monday, Nov. 2 at 7 p.m.
- Ward 6 – Wednesday, Nov. 4 at 6 p.m.
- Ward 8 – Wednesday, Nov. 4 at 7 p.m.
- Ward 9 – Thursday, Nov. 5 at 6 p.m.
- Ward 10 – Thursday, Nov. 5 at 7 p.m.
Forums will be not be held in Wards 1, 3, 5, and 7 because the single nominated candidate in each ward was acclaimed.
To attend a virtual forum, participants should send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org identifying the forum they wish to attend. A link to the online forum will be forwarded to participants prior to the event.
Candidates will each receive five minutes for remarks and will then respond to questions. Questions must be submitted prior to the forum and can be part of the participant's attendance request. Questions may be directed to a specific candidate or to the group, and each candidate will receive two minutes to respond.
