Montgomery School is a kindergarten to Grade 8 school located in the heart of Saskatoon's Montgomery neighbourhood, one of the city's most beautiful residential areas. Montgomery School has been serving the community since 1956. A new addition to the school opened in May 2003.
At Montgomery, we are committed to creating and maintaining a safe, challenging and caring learning community where respect and responsibility guide our actions. Having observed the enthusiasm displayed by our
ScienceTrek students, we moved to include all students in core innovative programming by becoming a Centre of Science Excellence. We promote inquiry-based learning and integrate science across the curricula. All students, from kindergarten to Grade 8, participate in weekly science labs.
In 2006, our school was awarded Emerald School Status (for completing 500 environmental projects) by the SEEDS Foundation; in 2008, we were awarded a Provincial Enviro-Action Grant; and in 2009, we received the Environmental Activism Award from the Saskatchewan Eco Network.
We are fortunate to have the Montgomery Little Sprouts Preschool operated by preschool teacher Ms. Kristy. The
preschool functions as a cooperative, offering classes for three- and four-year-old children. Preschool classes begin in September and finish in mid-June.
