About our School

Brevoort Park School . . . the future is here!

We would like to acknowledge that we gather daily to learn on

Treaty 6 Territory and in the Homeland of the Métis.

Brevoort Park School is located in the southeast part of Saskatoon in a vibrant community of the same name.  We are a caring community of learners, and we live by the principles outlined in ROAR.  This means, everything we say and do is guided by:

R – Respect

O – (building) Our Community

A – Acceptance

R - Responsibility

We believe all students can learn, given the appropriate time and supports, and we plan for their successes every day.  We set learning expectations high, and then support learners to reach those expectations.

We are working to create a culture of learners both within our student body and our staff.  We are focused on building learning opportunities that offer the first and best classroom instruction that is effective at reaching our diverse learners and creates a growth mindset.  We also believe in building a calm, respectful and mindful environment that establishes and maintains a sense of place and ownership for everyone who is part of the Brevoort Park School family.

We believe we have a responsibility to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission's Calls to Action that pertain to education.  We believe our students' hearts and minds are open for learning.  We are responsible for teaching them about Canada's history of colonialism and the impact of residential schools, which is a difficult yet essential aspect of their educational journey.  This knowledge is foundational to the goal of reconciliation.

We believe parents and caregivers are our students' first teachers, and that the parent knowledge you have is invaluable and essential to your child's learning success.  We need to create a team with you to have the biggest impact on your child's learning.

We believe that the best learning opportunities occur both in the classroom and outside of it.  That is why students have the opportunities to take part in school sports such as track, volleyball, basketball and clubs such as the Zoo Club, Good Citizenship Club (GCC), Student Leadership Council (SLC), Art Club, Yoga Club and so many other opportunities.

We believe all families and students are a welcome and integral part of Brevoort Park School, and that we are stronger because of our diversity.
