Welcome to Marion M. Graham Collegiate!

We would like to take this opportunity to tell you about the proud history of our school. Marion M. Graham Collegiate opened in September 1984 with the attendance of Governor General of Canada Madame Jeanne Sauvé. The collegiate is named for a woman who devoted a lifetime of service to education in Saskatoon and significantly contributed to her community and country.

Marion M. Graham taught in Saskatoon for thirty years, after which she served as a member of the Saskatoon Public School's Board of Directors from 1967 to 1982. During these years, she worked tirelessly for the development of learning resource centres, a service that is now available to all students in Saskatoon Public Schools. Ms. Graham also devoted her energy to community life, working as a volunteer with many organizations, including the Air Cadet League of Canada, St. John Ambulance, YWCA and United Way. As a result of her involvement, Ms. Graham received many awards of recognition, including an appointment to the Order of Canada in 1977.

Ms. Graham’s family motto was “Ne oublie” (Do not forget). Her life serves as a reminder to us of what constitutes an exemplary life: the importance of learning, service to one’s community, dedication to the lives of others and responsible citizenship.
