At Bedford Road Collegiate, we offer a range of curricular and extracurricular programs to meet the needs of all learners.
Academic programs include:
-
International Baccaulaureate Diploma Programme, a two-year internationally recognized program that begins in Grade 11 for students who are academically motivated, service oriented and who desire a rigorous international curriculum that focuses on our role as citizens in a global society. The program has attracted student interest from across Canada, including Toronto and Vancouver, as well as Australia and China.
-
Pre-Engineering, an innovative course that provides students with practical, hands-on experience and problem-solving skills in an interactive, state-of-the-art lab. Students learn design fundamentals and work with robotic, pneumatic, electrical and other technologies to acquire the knowledge, skills and attributes to communicate and document the solution to an authentic engineering problem.
-
SAGE for gifted learners with unique socio-emotional needs who would benefit from a congregated classroom.
-
Dance, where students with previous dance training and those new to the discipline learn from highly qualified dance teachers and special guest choreographers.
-
Land-based education for Grade 9 students interested in taking an environmental approach to learning.
In addition, we offer many experiential programs, including art, athletics, choral, esthetics, film making, food, theatre and textiles. Students can also enjoy many opportunities to get involved outside of the classroom with a variety of clubs, including debate, girls' groups, musical, pom, student representatives' council, yearbook and more, as well as cultural activities such as First Nations' drumming group, smudge and sweat opportunities.
