High school opportunities for young adults, ages 18-21

Returning to school can open doors to further education and employment. For young adults who want to complete high school or improve their marks, Saskatoon Public Schools offers flexible programming and support to help them take that next step.

Nutana Collegiate and Mount Royal Collegiate welcome students aged 18 to 21, offering a supportive environment where they can build confidence and work toward their goals.

A pathway to graduation

Both schools offer the Adult 12 graduation program, which allows eligible students to earn their high school diploma by completing seven courses that meet Adult 12 graduation requirements. Students can graduate once they turn 19 and, depending on their previous credits and course needs, may be able to finish in one year or less.

An Adult 12 diploma provides a pathway to post-secondary education, including opportunities to apply to post-secondary institutions across Canada. Counsellors can help students choose courses that meet the admission requirements for their intended programs.

Support for a successful return

Returning to school can feel daunting, especially for students whose earlier experiences may have been challenging. Counsellors like Everett Berg (Nutana) and Eman Demmans (Mount Royal) help young adults navigate that transition and plan for what comes next.

Students receive individualized learning plans, flexible programming, academic support, and career counselling. School staff work to create a warm, inclusive environment.

Continuous enrollment also allows students to join throughout the year, whenever they are ready to return. There is no need to wait for September.

Take the next step

Young adults interested in these opportunities are invited to contact our schools:

Staff will arrange a time for prospective students to meet with an administrator and counsellor, discuss their course needs, and register.
