Strategic Plan
At Saskatoon Public Schools, our Strategic Plan provides a shared direction for our work and keeps students at the centre of the decisions we make.
Our 2026–2030 Strategic Plan builds on the strengths of our previous plan while sharpening our focus, strengthening alignment across the division and making the connection between student outcomes and the work that supports them more visible.
Our Vision
Every student is:
Known
Valued
Believed In
Our vision remains at the heart of the Strategic Plan and describes the experience we want for every student in Saskatoon Public Schools.
Our Commitment
We will create learning experiences that inspire all students to reach their potential.
Our commitment describes how we will work together to realize our vision for students.
Our Strategic Imperative
Academic Excellence
Students will achieve success in their learning and demonstrate continuous growth toward their potential.
Academic Excellence is the Strategic Imperative of the 2026–2030 plan. The renewed strategy makes Academic Excellence the central pillar of the following student outcomes, values, operational priorities and organizational foundations that support student success.
Student Outcomes
We achieve our vision when students succeed in the following ways:
Citizenship
Students will contribute positively to their school, communities and relationships.
Engagement
Students will actively participate in relevant and meaningful learning.
Well-Being
Students will feel safe, welcome and supported at school.
Together, these outcomes describe what we want students to experience and achieve. Academic Excellence remains central, supported by students' citizenship, engagement and well-being.
Our Values
Our actions and choices are guided by our values:
Relationships We value diversity, strong partnerships and welcoming spaces that are open to all. | Equity We value equitable opportunities, high expectations for all, anti-racist and anti-oppressive practices, and a representative workforce. | Accountability We value evidence-informed practices, Indigenous student success, and safe, caring and accepting learning environments. |
From Strategy to Action
Our Strategic Plan provides a shared direction for Saskatoon Public Schools. It guides how we focus our attention, resources and efforts to support student learning, achievement and well-being.
Over the next five years, three areas of focus will help bring our commitment to life:
Optimizing Supports for Learning
Strengthening the supports, programs and approaches that contribute to student learning and success.
Supporting Indigenous Student Success
Strengthening Indigenous student success and the relationships, practices and supports that contribute to belonging, achievement and well-being.
Supporting Sustainable Division-Wide Growth
Planning for changing student needs, enrolment and communities while supporting the long-term needs of our school division.
These priorities are supported by the work happening every day across our schools and division, including teaching and learning, student supports, professional learning, leadership, staffing, communication, technology and effective organizational practices.
Bringing the Plan to Life
The Strategic Plan creates a common direction for Saskatoon Public Schools. Schools, departments and employees bring it to life through their work with students, families and communities.
Our goal is not for every school or department to do exactly the same work. It is to create greater alignment so that, longterm, our efforts across the division are moving in the same direction.
