Hockey Academy
Starting in the 2026-27 school year, Saskatoon Public Schools are home to Hockey Academy, in partnership with Trach Power Skating & Skills.
Hockey Academy gives Grade 6-8 students of all genders the opportunity to combine high-quality on-ice development with their regular academic programming. Kids of a variety of skill levels are welcome. The program will operate Monday and Wednesday mornings. Academic schedules will be adjusted to ensure all students continue to meet Saskatchewan curriculum outcomes.
Locations
The academy will be offered at five Saskatoon Public Schools locations: Chief Whitecap School, Estey School, Lakeridge School, École River Heights School, and Willowgrove School. These schools were selected because each has the capacity to support the academy model and is located within one of Saskatoon’s minor hockey zones: the Aces (Estey), Renegades (École River Heights), Wild and Redwings (Willowgrove), Flyers (Lakeridge), and Bobcats (Chief Whitecap).
Open House
An open house will be held at Estey School on February 1, 2026 from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. This is for families attending or considering attending any of the five academy schools.
