First Nations, Métis and Inuit Education Unit

The First Nations, Métis and Inuit Education Unit provides support to our staff, students and parents in five key areas:

  1. Inclusion of First Nations, Métis and Inuit content into all curricula at all grade levels.
  2. Cultural awareness training to promote positive cross-cultural understandings.
  3. Encouragement of authentic community engagement from First Nations, Métis and Inuit communities.
  4. Fostering of partnerships with community organizations to support the holistic, culturally-inclusive education of our students.
  5. Support for students as they transition from home to school, rural to urban, elementary to secondary and secondary to work or further education.


Call for Submissions - Orange Shirt Design

Saskatoon Public Schools invites residents of Saskatoon who are 16 years of age or older to submit an original design for a new Saskatoon Public Schools Orange Shirt. The Orange Shirt will be made available for purchase by students, staff, and families in recognition of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and Orange Shirt Day.

Final day for submissions is August 10, 2026.
