An educational program in an elementary school of approximately 500-600 students with community opportunities and services can greatly improve student outcomes. This is an ideal school size for optimizing educational programming options for students and supports from external partners. It also creates a critical mass for supporting social interaction and student relationships.
A new school will be designed to reflect current educational evidence for supportive learning environments. Thoughtfully designed cultural spaces, dedicated science and art rooms, innovative gymnasium and outdoor learning and play spaces, collaborative work areas, efficient nutrition area, and designated offices for external partners add up to a beneficial learning experience for students.
There are numerous partnership possibilities through health, Indigenous organizations, social agencies, and private sector partners that could greatly improve the student learning environment. This will also provide many other additional benefits to the local community.
