Saskatoon Public Schools
Inspiring Learning

Kindergarten is a special time in the life of a young child. Saskatoon Public Schools are open to all children and dedicated to embracing every student in a welcoming and safe environment. We understand the importance of early learning. Our kindergarten classes are small to encourage individualized education and include a strong literacy component.

If your child will be five years old by January 31 of the school year they will be attending kindergarten, they can start in September. For example, if your child will be five years old by January 31, 2024, they can start kindergarten in the fall of 2023.

Kindergarten Programs

We offer a variety of kindergarten programs, including:
  • Half day, every day
  • Full day, alternating day
  • Full day, every day.
The Saskatoon Public Schools Foundation supports full day, every day kindergarten programs in 25 schools throughout the city.
